Your teacher realises the excellent value offered by a quality modern handmade instrument, and has recommended us to you.  Or you've played one of our instruments.  Or you've a loan instrument which you must give back and you just can't live without that sound.  Or you may not be able to afford the price of an old Italian instrument.

So you come and see us, and we can talk about the kind of sound you have in your imagination.  The sort of violins you love the look of.  Dimensions, model and the kind of neck profile which constrains your playing least.

Then we look through our wood stock, decide one or two piece back.  Can you afford this thirty year old Balkan maple?  It's pretty but is there any tonal advantage in choosing it?  And hazel spruce, does it really sound better?  And how much will it all cost?
